The GCLA is happy to welcome researchers wishing to do research on Late Antiquity in Ghent. Whilst the Centre itself does not hand out any scholarships, it can help qualified and promising scholars in their applications for funding:
- fully funded doctoral projects (2 + 2 years): funding through Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO), deadline beginning of March, to start in the beginning of November.
- fully funded postdoctoral projects (junior or senior, 3 years): funding through Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO), deadline middle of November, to start in the beginning of October.
- visiting scholarships (1 to 3 months) for scholars with two or more years of postdoctoral experience: funding through Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) or through our Faculty’s Commission for Scientific Research (CWO) (intranet only).
Coming to Ghent as a self-funded doctoral student is possible if a professor is willing to supervise you and if you can provide the university with proof of income. More information
